More than 90 subdivisions, apartment communities and assisted-living facilities sit inside Palmer Ranch, according to its master association, and every one of them needs grounds kept, repairs made and deliveries brought in. Trucks that do that kind of work pile up hard hours, and the trailers behind them are easy to overlook. RDI Fleet, RDI Power’s fleet maintenance program, gives those fleets a plan instead of a string of emergencies. RDI has no shop in Palmer Ranch; our technicians travel down from Brooksville and service units at your yard on scheduled days.
Landscaping and community service fleets in Palmer Ranch
Palmer Ranch is a planned community bounded by Clark Road, US 41 and I-75, with 14,966 residents in the 2020 census. Its fleet story is the vehicles of upkeep: landscaping crews, HOA contractors, service companies and delivery trucks. FDOT counts about 12,818 trucks a day on I-75 along the community’s eastern edge, but upkeep work inside a planned community is done on local streets, at low speed, with frequent stops.
That kind of work is hard on a truck in ways the odometer hides. A crew pickup that tows a loaded trailer from one property to the next, idles while the crew works and covers few miles in a day is in severe duty all the time. RDI Fleet covers every class involved, from light duty pickups to medium duty trucks, trailers included.
Trucks and trailers on one Palmer Ranch plan
On a Palmer Ranch plan, the trucks are serviced on the severe-duty schedule: oil and filters, fuel filters and the water separator, the air filter, belts, hoses and coolant, brakes, tires, steering and suspension, lights, the charging system, aftertreatment checks and a scan for stored codes. Trucks that tow every day also get their hitch, receiver, safety chain attachment points and trailer connector checked at each visit.
Trailers get their own line on the plan, because they fail in their own ways:
- Tires and wheel bearings. A dry bearing on a loaded mower trailer can seize and take the hub with it.
- Lights and wiring. Harnesses chafe, grounds corrode and plugs fill with debris.
- Couplers and safety chains. Worn couplers and stretched chains are inspected before they become a roadside problem.
- Brakes. On trailers heavy enough to have them, linings, magnets or surge components and the breakaway system are checked.

Annual inspections for heavier Palmer Ranch rigs
A crew truck and loaded trailer can add up fast. When a truck, or a truck and trailer combination, is rated at 10,001 pounds GVWR or more and works across state lines, federal rules call for an annual inspection and a copy of the report kept for 14 months. On a Palmer Ranch plan, we track which units qualify and book each annual into that unit’s PM visit, so nothing lapses and nothing comes off the road twice. Drivers still walk around their rigs before every shift; the annual is in addition to that habit, not a substitute for it.
Palmer Ranch yard visits by appointment
A landscaping crew without its truck is a crew without a day’s work, so visits are planned around your schedule. We agree on dates ahead of time from each unit’s intervals and the days you can spare vehicles, and the technician from Brooksville works through several units, trucks and trailers, in one stop. If a unit fails between visits, a fleet account gets priority. Repairs that need a lift, such as engine or transmission work, are booked into the Brooksville shop at a time we set together.
Palmer Ranch fleet records, warranty and roadside
Every unit leaves each visit with a photo inspection report: what was found, what was done and what should be planned next. Over a season, those reports show which trucks and trailers are reliable and which are draining the budget, which is exactly what you need when deciding where to spend next year. Fleet repairs in Palmer Ranch carry the RDI Fleet warranty, 2 years or 24,000 miles. A fleet truck that stops on I-75 or US 41 outside shop hours is still covered, because fleet roadside runs 24/7 at (352) 433-3800.
The program as a whole is described on RDI Fleet maintenance. Fleets based further south along US 41 can see fleet maintenance in Laurel, and a Palmer Ranch truck that is already stopped is covered by mobile diesel repair in Palmer Ranch.
