Osceola County stretches from the tourist corridor around Kissimmee and Celebration south into open ranch country, and its roads carry both. FDOT data cited by MetroPlan Orlando gives the county 100.1 centerline miles of Strategic Intermodal System highway, 12th among Florida counties. RDI Power keeps no shop or office here. When an Osceola truck needs work, a technician makes the trip from Brooksville, handles what can be handled beside the truck, and books the heavier jobs into our bays on a date that suits you.
The Turnpike, US 192 and the Osceola County parkways
Florida’s Turnpike is the county’s main truck road, with about 23,100 trucks a day near Kissimmee in FDOT’s 2025 counts, a fifth of all traffic. Exits 242 and 244 at US 192/US 441 are signed for Kissimmee, St. Cloud and Walt Disney World, Exit 249 serves the Osceola Parkway, and a new Nolte Road interchange is being built to replace St. Cloud’s Orlando-bound-only ramp at Clay Whaley Road. The Canoe Creek Service Plaza at mile 229 has 35 public truck spaces and fuel around the clock, though Florida’s Turnpike prohibits overnight parking at its plazas.
MetroPlan lists US 192 and US 17-92 among the region’s important freight corridors, and it has flagged trucks straying onto non-designated roads in Kissimmee as a safety concern. On the west side, I-4 near Celebration carries about 17,500 trucks a day and gained 2 lanes between US 27 and World Drive by April 2025. The Poinciana Parkway, a 7.22-mile electronic toll road opened in 2016, gives Poinciana its outlet northwest to US 17/92 and I-4. Our pages on mobile diesel repair in Kissimmee, mobile diesel repair in Celebration and mobile diesel repair in Poinciana cover breakdowns on these roads.
Ranches, resorts and public fleets: who runs diesel in Osceola County
Cattle ranching drove the local economy until Walt Disney World opened in 1971, and ranches still operate in southern Osceola County. Deseret Ranches, which spreads across Osceola, Orange and Brevard counties, is described as the most productive cow-calf ranch in the US as of 2026.
Tourism and health care shape the north end. Several Disney business units still have offices in Celebration, which holds the only Class A office buildings in the county, and AdventHealth announced a 5-story patient tower for its Celebration campus in 2024. Kissimmee owns Kissimmee Gateway Airport, which advertises 100 acres of aviation and industrial land for lease, and the Kissimmee Utility Authority, the city’s electric system since 1901, serves about 100,000 customers. Fleet maintenance in Kissimmee covers the county seat.
Public fleets are expanding too. The Osceola school district ran around 330 buses on 260 to 270 daily routes as of February 2025, opened an east-side transportation and operations facility in St. Cloud for the 2025 to 2026 school year, and added a 53-acre west-side facility in August 2026. LYNX approved buying about 21 acres along the Osceola Parkway in March 2026 for a southern bus base planned for 153 buses. St. Cloud, which grew from 58,964 residents in 2020 to an estimated 74,960 in 2025, runs a city transfer station and requires franchise agreements for roll-off haulers. Poinciana, which straddles Osceola and Polk counties, grew from about 8,000 residents in 1994 to 69,309 in 2020. See fleet maintenance in St. Cloud and fleet maintenance in Buenaventura Lakes.
On-site visits in Osceola County
Osceola work happens in contractor yards off US 192, in lots near the Turnpike exits, on aprons at Kissimmee Gateway Airport and in pastures south of St. Cloud. What makes a visit work is the same in each place: solid footing where the service truck can park close, a gate code or a contact who can open up, and the owner’s okay to do the job there. For any other spot, describe it when you call.
The technician’s first job is to find the cause. Ford IDS handles Power Stroke pickups, WiTECH handles Ram, and heavy duty software covers tractors and vocational trucks; fault codes and live data narrow the search, and a test proves it before a part is ordered. Dead batteries, failed starters and alternators, leaking air lines, worn brake chambers, coolant leaks, plugged fuel filters, water in the fuel and broken trailer wiring are the kinds of faults that get fixed in the field. An engine that has to come apart or a transmission that has to come out goes to Brooksville instead, on a date we set together.
Paperwork is digital: photos, findings and notes from every visit. Labor done in the field is warranted for 3 years or 36,000 miles, exactly as it would be in the shop. The mobile diesel repair page goes into more detail.
RDI Fleet plans for Osceola County operators
Under RDI Fleet, each truck’s PM interval comes from its duty cycle. A Turnpike tractor is serviced by the odometer. A ranch truck, a roll-off or a unit that runs a PTO at a stop is serviced by the hour meter. Cattle and equipment trailers follow a separate schedule for brakes, wheel bearings, lighting and tires, and the yearly DOT inspection for each unit is folded into a PM visit.
On top of the schedule, fleet customers get priority in the work queue, round-the-clock roadside assistance and RDI Fleet’s 2-year/24,000-mile coverage on repairs, with every finding photographed and filed. Read how the program runs on the fleet maintenance page, then send us a rough count of what you operate in Osceola County.
