Marion County lies northeast of Citrus County, a long drive from the Brooksville shop, so the work here is mostly on-site. Ocala anchors it, with a commerce park full of national distribution centers just off I-75, a fire apparatus plant, and horse country all around. Technicians come out from Brooksville with diagnostic tools and parts, repair the truck where it works when the job allows, and plan anything that needs a bay into Brooksville with you.
I-75, SR 200 and CR 484 in Marion County
I-75 is the backbone, averaging 97,500 vehicles a day through Ocala with peaks above 120,000. FDOT’s 2025 counts put about 28,300 trucks a day on it near Ocala, roughly a quarter of traffic. Exit 341 at CR 484 serves Marion Oaks, Exit 350 at SR 200 serves Ocala’s southwest side, and there are rest areas near both. Florida’s Turnpike begins just south of the Ocala metro.
Off the interstate, SR 200 runs northeast from Hernando in Citrus County into Ocala, and near the city trucks make up about 30 percent of its traffic. SR 40 and US 27 carry heavy truck shares as well. US 41 runs through Dunnellon, where about 30 percent of its traffic is trucks, and CR 484 ties Dunnellon east to Marion Oaks and on to US 27/441 at Summerfield. Our pages on mobile diesel repair in Ocala, mobile diesel repair in Liberty Triangle and mobile diesel repair in Dunnellon cover breakdowns on these roads.
Distribution, fire trucks and horse farms: who runs diesel in Marion County
The Ocala/Marion County Commerce Park holds a FedEx Ground hub of 440,000 square feet, an Amazon fulfillment center, a Chewy fulfillment center and an AutoZone distribution center, per the Ocala CEP. McLane runs a 400,000 square foot distribution center at the Ocala International Commerce Park, Dollar Tree and Family Dollar built an automated distribution hub in Ocala that serves the whole state, ID Logistics opened in September 2025 and Averitt is adding dock positions. E-ONE, the fire apparatus maker, is adding 80,000 square feet of emergency vehicle production space in 2026. See fleet maintenance in Ocala for the distribution side.
Rail reaches many of those parks. CSX serves business parks directly, and the Florida Northern short line switches and transloads for customers without a spur, with a terminal in Dunnellon and a lumber transload in Silver Springs Shores. Near Dunnellon, the county-owned airport and its industrial park cover about 800 acres.
Then there are the horses. Ocala is home to more than 400 thoroughbred farms and training centers and the World Equestrian Center, and about 44,000 jobs are tied to the equine industry. That puts horse trailers, farm tractors and hay trucks on the same roads as linehaul tractors.
Growth runs through all of it. Marion County issued 5,682 single-family permits through August 2025, up 14.8 percent, and the Census Bureau ranked the Ocala metro the fastest growing in the country for 2024 and 2025. Silver Springs Shores grew from 6,539 residents in 2010 to 24,846 in 2020, Marion Oaks first appeared as a census place in 2020 with 19,034, and South Marion High School was set to open in 2026. Marion County Public Schools serves 46,250 students at 58 schools, and SunTran runs Ocala’s fixed routes on diesel buses. Fleet maintenance in Marion Oaks, fleet maintenance in Silver Springs Shores and fleet maintenance in On Top of the World cover the growing south and southwest side.
On-site repair across Marion County
A Marion County visit can be a dock yard in the commerce park, a barn lane on a horse farm, a subdivision job site in Marion Oaks or a lot off an I-75 exit. The technician needs firm ground beside the truck and permission from whoever runs the property; farm lanes after rain are worth mentioning when you call. If your truck is somewhere else, call and tell us where it is.
The process does not change with the setting. Dealer-level diagnostic software goes on the truck, including Ford IDS for Power Stroke pickups and WiTECH for Ram, with heavy duty tools for tractors. Codes and live data are read, the suspect part is tested, and the root cause is confirmed before the repair. Field repairs include starting and charging faults, air leaks and brake chambers, cooling leaks, fuel filters and water in the fuel, trailer lighting and wiring, and sensor faults behind a derate. Engine overhauls and transmission rebuilds go to the Brooksville bays, and we plan that move around your schedule.
Every visit is written up as a digital inspection with photos and notes. On-site labor carries RDI Power’s labor warranty of 3 years or 36,000 miles. The mobile diesel repair page covers on-site service in full.
RDI Fleet plans for Marion County operators
An RDI Fleet plan matches PM to the work. Linehaul tractors out of the commerce parks run up miles on I-75. Yard tractors, dump trucks on subdivision sites and farm trucks run up engine hours. Horse trailers get their own brake, bearing, light and tire checks. Each unit’s annual DOT inspection is done with its PM.
Fleet accounts get priority scheduling, roadside help 24/7 and a 2-year/24,000-mile warranty on fleet repairs, and every visit adds photos and notes to that unit’s history. The fleet maintenance page explains the program. Call with a list of what you run in Marion County, and we will show you what a plan looks like.
