Mobile diesel repair means the technician travels and the truck does not. For Inverness Highlands South that covers a lot of ground: campsites off state forest roads, job sites at the Inverness Airport business park, and the shoulder of Pleasant Grove Road. Our shop sits about 21 road miles south in Brooksville, and the mobile side exists so a stalled truck or coach does not have to make that trip just to be diagnosed.
Campgrounds on Trails 10, 13 and 16 in the Citrus Tract
The Withlacoochee State Forest’s Citrus Tract borders the community on the west, and its camping areas, Holder Mine, Mutual Mine and Tillis Hill, share the Inverness 34452 address. One of them, Holder Mine, sits off forest road Trail 10, and each of its 27 sites has power and water. A diesel pusher or a tow vehicle that refuses to start at a campsite is a classic mobile call. Often the cause is small: a drained battery, a corroded connection, a failed starter or a fuel problem after the coach sat, and a technician can diagnose it right at the site. When the repair needs more than a site visit, we plan the next step from there. Coach owners will find more on the Inverness Highlands South RV repair page.
Pleasant Grove Road breakdowns and what to tell us
CR-581, Pleasant Grove Road, runs along the east side of the state forest from the Hernando County line north into Inverness. If a truck stops on it, the most useful details are:
- Northbound or southbound
- The nearest cross street, forest road number or landmark such as Pleasant Grove Elementary
- Whether the truck is fully off the pavement
- Make, engine and what it did before it quit: lost power, overheated, shut off, would not restart
Give us those and a technician arrives with the right diagnostic tools and a good idea of what to bring.
While you wait, get the truck as far off the travel lane as the shoulder allows, switch on the hazards and set out triangles if you carry them. On a tractor with an air leak, do not keep cranking or idling to rebuild pressure; note what the gauges did when the problem started, because that tells the technician a lot before the hood is even open.
Job sites at the Inverness Airport business park
If your trucks or equipment haulers are working the build at the airport business park, just east of the community line, a unit that goes down mid-project costs the job more than the repair does. A mobile technician can scan it, check live data and handle repairs such as sensors, batteries, starters, alternators, belts, hoses, air leaks and filter-related no-starts right there, and if it needs more, the diagnosis is already done when it reaches the shop. Fleets working the site can put yard and job-site visits into an RDI Fleet plan.
When the truck has to go down CR-581 to the shop
Engine teardowns, transmission rebuilds, alignments and anything that needs a lift happen in the Brooksville bays. If the on-site visit shows that is where a truck belongs, we plan the move together, down Pleasant Grove Road and Snow Memorial Highway or by US-41, and the truck arrives with a plan already written. The visit itself produces a digital inspection with photos and notes, and on-site labor carries the same 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty as shop work.
Our mobile diesel repair page explains how the service works across the region, and trucks that stop inside the city can be found faster with the landmarks on our Inverness mobile diesel repair page. Call (352) 433-3800 with the location and what the truck is doing.
