With 85,951 residents in 2020, Town ‘n’ Country is one of the largest unincorporated communities in Hillsborough County, and it covers 24.1 square miles. Its community plan draws the edges plainly: Pinellas County to the west, Tampa Bay to the south, Tampa International Airport to the east and Linebaugh Avenue to the north. The northwest part of the airport actually lies inside the community. Nothing RDI owns sits in Town ‘n’ Country: no shop, no office. When a diesel breaks down anywhere inside those lines, our mobile technicians come down from Brooksville with diagnostic tools and repair equipment, and the work happens where the truck stopped.
The south end of the Veterans in Town ‘n’ Country
Truck traffic on the Veterans Expressway peaks near Town ‘n’ Country: about 12,285 trucks a day in FDOT’s 2025 count, 12.2% of more than 100,000 vehicles. The southern end of the road has a string of interchanges, from Independence Parkway and Memorial Highway up through Hillsborough Avenue, Waters Avenue, Anderson Road and Linebaugh Avenue.
Those interchanges are your best location markers. When you call, give us your direction, the exit you just passed and whether you are on the shoulder, a ramp or the merge. If the truck is losing power but still moving, an exit ramp and a nearby lot are far better places to stop than the shoulder of a toll road.
Hillsborough Avenue, Memorial Highway and SR-60
The Town ‘n’ Country Community Plan calls for improving the Hillsborough Avenue corridor and the intersection of Hillsborough Avenue and Memorial Highway, and for restricting access points along major roads. Fewer curb cuts and median openings make traffic safer, but they also mean a disabled truck may not be able to turn into the nearest lot. Tell the technician which side of the road you are on and which direction you were headed, so the service truck approaches from the right side.
SR-60 near Town ‘n’ Country carried about 8,580 trucks a day in 2025, 12% of its traffic, and SR-580 nearby about 4,988. On any of these, the safe move is the same: off the travel lane if the truck will roll, hazards and triangles if it will not, and the driver away from traffic.
Town ‘n’ Country job sites and yards
When a dump truck, a flatbed or a service truck fails on a Town ‘n’ Country job site, it is often easier to repair it there than to arrange a tow out through traffic. For a site call, have ready the entrance to use, who will meet the technician, where the truck is parked and what the ground is like. Firm, level ground with room around the truck makes for a faster, safer repair. Restricted property, including anything on the airport side, needs access sorted out in advance. If the technician will need to drive onto soft ground or into a tight yard, say so on the call so the right service vehicle and plan come with them.
What a Town ‘n’ Country technician can repair on the spot
The visit opens with a diagnosis. With dealer-grade software for pickups and heavy-duty scan tools for the big trucks, the technician reads fault codes, watches live data and tests the part the evidence points to. Then the repair. Typical on-site work includes:
- Batteries, battery cables and starters on no-crank calls
- Alternators, belts and tensioners when the charging light comes on
- Radiator hoses, heater hoses and clamps when coolant is on the ground
- Fuel filters, water separators and priming when the engine cranks but will not run
- Wiring, connectors and sensors behind derates and warning lights
- Air lines, fittings and brake chambers on heavy trucks
Each Town ‘n’ Country repair gets written up with photos of the failed part and plain notes from the technician, and the labor is backed for 3 years or 36,000 miles. Our roadside assistance page covers what to do while you wait.
When Town ‘n’ Country repairs move to Brooksville
A failed transmission, internal engine damage or a repair that needs a lift is shop work. The technician explains what failed and why, and we plan with you how and when the truck makes the trip to our Brooksville bays, so the diagnosis carries straight into the repair.
