Sun City Center is an age-restricted community of 30,952 people, 24 miles south of Tampa, with its own hospital, several nursing home facilities and about five golf courses. Golf carts are allowed on its streets in daylight, and shops set aside parking for them. It is not a freight town, but delivery trucks, service vehicles and through traffic still pass through, and SR 674 carries a steady load of trucks right through it. RDI Power has no shop in Sun City Center. A breakdown here brings one of our technicians down from Brooksville, with a scan tool and a service truck stocked for on-site repair.
Golf carts and stalled trucks on Sun City Center streets
A disabled truck on a street shared with golf carts needs more warning than usual. Carts are slower and sit lower than cars, and their drivers may not expect a large vehicle stopped in the lane. A truck that can still creep forward belongs in a parking lot or pulled well aside, clear of any cart path or crossing. One that cannot move gets its hazards on right away, and its triangles go out early and far enough back to give carts time to react. Stay beside the truck, out of the travel path, until help arrives.
When you call, the street name and nearest cross street are enough. The technician will park the service truck where it adds as little obstruction as possible.
SR 674 through Sun City Center
SR 674, Sun City Center Boulevard, is the spine that links the community west to Ruskin and east to Wimauma. FDOT’s 2025 inventory counts about 43,000 vehicles a day on it near Sun City Center, about 3,956 of them trucks, 9.2% of the total. On a road that busy, a breakdown in a travel lane is dangerous for everyone. Use the next lot if the truck allows it. Overheating in slow traffic, a battery or starter that gives out after a day of short stops, and a fuel filter restriction are the kinds of failures that can strand a truck here.
I-75 exit 240 and US 301 at the Sun City Center edges
I-75 forms the northwestern edge of the community, with exit 240 at Sun City Center Boulevard. FDOT counts about 6,832 trucks a day on the interstate nearby. A few miles away, FDOT’s I-75 rest areas have 117 truck parking spaces southbound and 60 northbound, handy reference points if you are near one. On the east side, US 301 forms the boundary, and its junction with SR 674 is signed for Sun City Center, Wimauma and a convention center. On any of these roads, the exit number or junction plus your direction is the fastest way to guide a technician in.
Where mobile service works in Sun City Center

What a technician can fix at a Sun City Center yard
Diagnosis always comes first: codes, live data and the tests those codes point to, run by ASE certified technicians with dealer-level software. Then the repair, which on site often means batteries, starters and alternators, belts and hoses, fuel filters and water separators, failed sensors or damaged wiring. Charging problems are a common reason a truck dies mid-route; our alternators page explains how we test them. Every Sun City Center repair is documented with photos on a digital inspection, and the labor is covered for 36,000 miles or 3 years.
