County plans reported in 2021 call for roughly 700,000 square feet of space and as many as 1,000 jobs on Lacoochee’s 90-acre industrial area near Bower and Coit roads. In March 2022 Pasco followed with a land use change for One Lacoochee Center, 33 acres of light-industrial land tucked between Coit Road, Bower Road, Cummer Road and the CSX tracks. An operation moving into a new yard has a rare chance to set up maintenance properly from day 1, instead of patching it together after the first breakdowns. RDI Fleet exists for that.
Starting maintenance right at a new Coit and Bower Road yard
RDI Fleet is the fleet program of RDI Power, not a separate company, and it began with the same idea the business did. Owner Ryan Bethell started out as a mobile unit serving fleets between Brooksville and Tampa, before there was a shop, and keeping working trucks on schedule is still the core of what we do. A plan for a Lacoochee operation starts with 4 questions:
- What do you run? Year, make, engine and mileage or hours for every unit, from pickups to tractors, trailers and buses, in light, medium or heavy duty.
- How do they work? Short heavy hauls, long highway legs and lots of idling each wear a truck differently, and service intervals should match.
- What is the budget? We would rather plan spending on prevention than react to breakdown bills.
- When can units be spared? Shifts, seasons and annual DOT inspection dates all go on the calendar.
Scheduled preventive maintenance is built from those answers, fleet accounts get priority when something breaks, and the RDI Fleet program page explains each piece in detail.
Yard visits versus the 30-minute run from Lacoochee
The drive from central Lacoochee to Donto Way runs about 20 miles, roughly 30 minutes each way. That is close enough for shop visits when they are needed and far enough that every visit should count. Most routine work can come to you: mobile technicians perform inspections, oil and filter changes, chassis lube and many repairs at the yard, so drivers start their shift with their trucks. When a unit does need the bays for engine, transmission or alignment work, we bundle its PM and any open repairs into the same visit. Heavy units get the same treatment; our Lacoochee semi truck repair page covers that side.
Records for every Lacoochee unit
Each service, at the yard or in the shop, ends with a digital vehicle inspection: photos of every finding and the technician’s notes. Kept over a year, those reports become a running service history for each truck, which makes it far easier to budget, to spot a unit that keeps coming back, and to decide when a truck has earned its replacement. Our article on fleet diesel engine maintenance describes what a solid PM visit should catch.
Warranty and around-the-clock help for Lacoochee fleets
Repairs done under an RDI Fleet account are covered by a 2-year / 24,000-mile fleet warranty. Fleet customers also get 24/7 roadside assistance, which matters for a yard 30 minutes from the shop when a unit goes down after 4:00 PM. Annual DOT inspections can be lined up with scheduled PM, so a truck comes out of service once instead of twice.
