Measured from central Ridge Manor, our shop on Donto Way is about 17 road miles and 26 minutes away. Every unit that makes that run for routine service costs a driver, a morning and, during the current construction on SR 50 and US 301, some patience. RDI Fleet, RDI Power’s fleet program, is set up to make fewer of those trips: maintenance planned ahead, much of it done at your yard, and shop visits that bundle everything a unit needs.
Ridge Manor fleets and the Withlacoochee
In October 2024 the Withlacoochee River crested at about 19.5 feet after Hurricane Milton. US 301 closed near SR 50, Ridge Manor was placed under an evacuation order, and the river kept the area wet for days. For a fleet, the second problem arrives after the water drops: trucks that sat in it, or drove through it, carry damage that may not show for weeks.
A plan helps here. Units that may have been exposed get inspected before anyone starts them, with the intake, fuel separator, axle and transmission fluids, brakes and wiring checked and photographed. The reports tell you which trucks can go back to work and which need repairs first, and fleet accounts have 24/7 roadside assistance for the units that quit later anyway.
Yard visits instead of 17-mile shop runs from Ridge Manor
Most preventive maintenance does not need a bay. A mobile technician can handle filters, fluids, chassis lube, inspections and many repairs at your yard, so the trucks stay close to their routes. When a unit does need the shop, we line up its PM, any open repairs and its annual DOT inspection for the same visit, and fleet accounts get priority when something breaks between visits. The shop opens at 7:00 AM, which lets an early departure from Ridge Manor turn into an early start in the bay.
Scheduling Ridge Manor units around US 301 and SR 50 construction
FDOT’s widening of US 301 (Treiman Boulevard), with a new Withlacoochee River bridge, is expected to run until about fall 2028. Work zones add idle time, braking and rough transitions, which shortens brake and tire life and adds hours to engines that do not gain miles. For units that spend their days in that traffic, we often set intervals by engine hours rather than miles, and we check brakes, steering parts and tires at every visit so wear becomes a planned repair. Heavy units with repair needs beyond PM are covered on our Ridge Manor semi truck repair page.
Reports, warranty and roadside for Ridge Manor units
Every visit, at your yard or in our bays, produces a digital inspection report with photos and technician notes. Over a year, those reports become each unit’s service history and make budgeting less of a guess. Fleet repairs carry the RDI Fleet warranty of 2 years or 24,000 miles. Plans cover light, medium and heavy duty trucks, trailers and buses, sized to your operation and budget.
The program itself, from the intro call to the shared schedule, is described on RDI Fleet maintenance. Operators across the river in Pasco can read Lacoochee fleet maintenance. A first conversation starts at (352) 433-3800 with a rough count of trucks, trailers and buses.
