At roughly 45 minutes from our Brooksville shop, Land O’ Lakes is a place where mobile service often makes more sense than a drive or a tow. A technician comes to the yard, job site or roadside spot with dealer-level scan tools and repair equipment, finds the fault and fixes what can be fixed there. When it cannot be finished on site, the diagnosis is done and the shop visit is planned before the truck moves.
Telling a technician where you are in Land O’ Lakes
Land O’ Lakes has no single main street, so the road name and a nearby landmark do most of the work:
- US-41 (Land O’ Lakes Boulevard). The north-south spine. The school district office at 7227 Land O’ Lakes Boulevard is an easy reference point.
- SR-54. The east-west road across southern Pasco, meeting US-41 at 1 of the county’s busiest intersections. Heading east, it reaches I-75 in Wesley Chapel.
- SR-52. The central Pasco crossing from US-19 to Dade City.
- Suncoast Parkway. The toll road along the western edge; give the direction of travel and the nearest exit or mile marker.
- Collier Parkway. Local traffic, with the Land O’ Lakes Branch Library at 2818 Collier Parkway.
- Ehren Cutoff (CR-583). The connector between US-41 and SR-52.
- SR-597 (Dale Mabry Highway). Another route through the community worth naming precisely.
- Parkway Boulevard. Home of the school district’s Central Bus Compound at 5346 Parkway Boulevard.
Land O’ Lakes High School and Sunlake High School also make good reference points. In the south, many addresses carry Lutz ZIP codes, and residents call the strip north of the county line up to SR-54 Pasco Lutz. If your paperwork says Lutz, the cross street is what we need.
Fixes a technician can make on a Land O’ Lakes shoulder or lot
Plenty of breakdowns end without a hook:
- A no-crank traced to a dead battery, a failed starter or a loose ground
- A tractor that will not build air because of a leaking line, a stuck governor or a failed dryer
- A derate caused by a failed sensor or a rubbed-through wire
- A fuel system that lost its prime after a filter change
- A snapped belt, a split coolant hose or a dead alternator
- Trailer lights and wiring faults that would fail an inspection
Before a part goes on, the truck gets scanned and the fault confirmed. The visit is documented in a digital inspection with photos, exactly like shop work, and it carries the same warranty.
Scheduled visits to Land O’ Lakes yards
Breakdowns are only half of mobile work. For fleets, a technician at the yard means PM, inspections and small repairs happen without a round trip of about 90 minutes to Brooksville, and several units can be serviced in 1 visit. RDI Fleet accounts can put those visits on a calendar built around the hours their trucks are parked; the Land O’ Lakes fleet maintenance page shows how plans are put together.
When a Land O’ Lakes truck has to go north
Overhauls, transmission rebuilds, alignments and anything that needs a lift belong in a bay. When that is the answer, we plan the tow up US-41 with you, and the truck arrives with its diagnosis already done, so the repair starts instead of the investigation.
Reaching us from Land O’ Lakes
RDI Fleet accounts have roadside help 24/7; our roadside assistance page covers how it works. Everyone else can call (352) 433-3800 weekdays from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Have the location, the make and engine, what happened before the truck stopped and whether it is clear of traffic. If the truck is on a busy road, get yourself out of the travel lanes first. For the program as a whole, see mobile diesel repair, and if the truck works farther south, our Lutz mobile diesel repair page covers that side of the county line.
