Homosassa Springs takes its name from the spring at the wildlife state park just west of US-19, and an RV resort sits right beside that park: Homosassa River RV Resort, with 222 full-hookup sites on W. Fishbowl Drive, a few minutes west of the community. RDI Power is not an RV dealer or a coach shop. We are diesel technicians, and for a diesel pusher that means the engine, the Allison transmission, the air brakes, the air suspension and the rest of the chassis, worked on at the campground or in our Brooksville bays about 25 road miles away.
Campground visits near the Homosassa Springs wildlife park
A coach that will not start, will not air up or should not be driven is usually better diagnosed where it sits than towed on a guess. Our mobile technicians come out with diagnostic software and tools, read the engine and transmission modules, find leaks and test circuits. Many repairs end right there: air lines and fittings, leveling valves, belts and hoses, batteries and cables, fuel filters, sensors and wiring. When the diagnosis points to work that needs a lift or a transmission out of the coach, the technician explains why, and we plan the move to Brooksville with you. How the on-site side works is laid out on our Homosassa Springs mobile diesel repair page.
Air brakes and air suspension on a coach parked in Homosassa Springs
A diesel pusher rides and stops on air, and a coach that sits for weeks shows its air leaks plainly. A corner that settles overnight points to an air bag with a crack, a leaking fitting or a leveling valve that will not hold. A compressor that runs longer than it used to, or a low-air warning that takes too long to clear, points to a leak elsewhere in the brake system or an air dryer near the end of its life. Moisture in the tanks is a warning sign too, because water in an air system corrodes valves and carries contamination toward the brakes.
We find leaks with the system fully charged, then repair the bag, line, fitting or valve that is actually failing. Brake chambers, slack adjusters, drums and linings get checked at the same time; our brake systems page covers the air brake side in more detail.
Allison and engine complaints between Homosassa Springs and the next stop
The Allison automatic in most pushers is dependable, provided its fluid is right. A late or harsh shift, a flare between gears or a stored code starts with fluid level and condition, then the transmission module’s data, then a road test. Plenty of complaints end with fluid service, a sensor or a software issue rather than a teardown. Fluid that smells burnt or leaves debris on the filter changes the conversation, and that is when the repair-or-rebuild choice gets laid out for you with photos.
On the engine side, pushers commonly run Cummins or Caterpillar engines, and RDI Power is Caterpillar certified. Coolant loss, low power, smoke and derates each get tested to a cause. Rear-engine compartments run hot, so belts, hoses and wiring there get a close look whenever the hatch is open.

Our RV service and repair page covers the full scope, and coach owners closer to the Hernando County line can read our Sugarmill Woods RV repair page.
