Azalea Park is easy to draw on a map. Colonial Drive (SR-50) runs along the north, Goldenrod Road (SR-551) along the east, Curry Ford Road (SR-552) along the south and Semoran Boulevard (SR-436) on part of the west, with Orlando Executive Airport filling in the rest of that side. The East-West Expressway (SR-408) carries the heaviest truck load nearby, about 11,089 trucks a day by FDOT’s 2025 count. When a diesel quits on any of those roads, RDI Power’s mobile service comes to it from our Brooksville shop.

Azalea Park landmarks a technician can find
Azalea Park is a public-agency hub. FDOT has an office here, shared with the Florida Highway Patrol’s Orlando station off SR-436 and Lake Underhill Road, that houses construction offices and the Orlando regional traffic management center. Orange County Fire Rescue, FHP and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission run communications centers in the area. Any of them, or the edge of Orlando Executive Airport, gives a technician a clear target. So does Exit 16, where Goldenrod Road meets the expressway inside the community, or the Lake Underhill Road intersection on Semoran.
Waiting safely on SR-408 near Azalea Park
The East-West Expressway carries more than 11,000 trucks a day past Azalea Park, so a stop there is no place to linger beside the truck. Steer as far right as the truck allows, hazards on, triangles out, then put distance, and a barrier if there is one, between you and the lanes. Photograph the dash before shutting the engine down. If the truck can still be driven safely with no red warning lamp, leaving at Exit 16 for Goldenrod Road gives the technician a far safer place to work.
Besides the location, we need the truck’s year, make and engine, the unit number and what it did before it quit. Mention whether it is loaded and whether anything is leaking, and read out any codes the dash or a code reader shows. With that, the technician can bring the likely parts instead of discovering the need on arrival.
Electrical faults, no-starts and derates fixed in Azalea Park
The technician connects a scan tool before touching anything else: codes, freeze-frame data and live readings first, then a hands-on test of the suspect part. Plenty of failures end right there:
- A weak battery or corroded cable that leaves a truck clicking
- An alternator that stopped charging, or a belt that came off
- A failed sensor or chafed harness behind a check engine light or a derate
- A coolant hose that split at a reachable fitting
- Air in the fuel after a filter change
- An air leak at a fitting or brake chamber on a heavy truck
Our electrical system page covers how we trace wiring faults, which matters on trucks carrying extra lighting and radio equipment. Each visit is written up as a digital vehicle inspection with photos and notes.
When Azalea Park repairs go to Brooksville
Overhauls, transmission rebuilds and any repair that needs the truck on a lift happen in our Brooksville bays, never on an Azalea Park shoulder. The technician explains the failure and why it needs a bay, and we work out the timing and the move together. The truck shows up with its diagnosis done and the parts on order.
