Hudson runs from the Gulf channel and its canal neighborhoods inland past US-19 to Little Road, and a truck can stop anywhere along the way. Mobile diesel repair sends the technician to it. The shop itself is 24 road miles away in Brooksville. The service trucks exist so a stalled diesel in Hudson does not have to cover that distance on a hook.
The waterfront side of Hudson: Old Dixie Highway, Clark Street and Sea Ranch Drive
On the Gulf side, Old Dixie Highway ties the waterfront neighborhoods together. Clark Street runs out to Robert J. Strickland Memorial Park at Hudson Beach, and Sea Ranch Drive serves the Sea Ranch neighborhood. Port Hudson Marina and the public boat ramps make good reference points. If a pickup quits there with a boat still on the trailer, say so when you call; it changes where the service truck can park and how the rig moves if it has to.
Inland Hudson: Fivay Road, Little Road and the US-19 corridor
US-19 (Commercial Way) is the spine of the community. Hudson Avenue and Fivay Road head inland from it, and Fivay Road passes HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital at 14000 Fivay Road, a landmark everyone can find. Little Road (CR 1) turns south near Denton Avenue and carries on toward Bayonet Point and Jasmine Estates. Farther inland, in the 34669 ZIP, the school district’s bus yard on Cobra Way is another fixed point.
For a highway breakdown, the direction of travel and the last cross street you passed locate a truck fastest. For a yard or job site, the gate a technician should use and a contact who can answer questions about the truck save time once they arrive.
Campground calls at Hudson’s Barrington Hills and Old Dixie Highway RV parks
Both RV parks fall inside Hudson, and campgrounds are a natural place for on-site work. A diesel pusher that will not crank, will not build air pressure or comes up with a warning light can often be diagnosed at the site, and many repairs can be finished there. The engine, transmission and chassis work we do on motorhomes is explained on the Hudson RV repair page.
Hudson repairs a technician can finish on the spot
Nothing gets swapped on a guess; the fault is scanned and proven first. These are the jobs that most often wrap up right where the truck sits:
- Dead batteries, corroded cables and ground straps, starters and alternators
- Belts, coolant hoses and leaks at clamps and fittings
- Air brake leaks, chambers and slack adjusters
- Fuel filters, water contamination and a fuel system that lost its prime after filter service
- A dead sensor or chafed harness behind a derate, plus trailer lamps and plugs
You get the same photo report a shop job produces, and work done beside the road is warrantied exactly like work done on a lift: 3 years / 36,000 miles on labor.
When a Hudson job moves to Donto Way
Opening up an engine, pulling a transmission, setting an alignment: those need a bay, and a shoulder on US-19 is not one. If a Hudson truck lands in that category, the roadside diagnosis is already done, so the tow north and east to Brooksville delivers a truck with its repair plan written.
Round-the-clock coverage belongs to RDI Fleet accounts, as the roadside assistance page describes; every other Hudson truck can get a technician by phoning (352) 433-3800 between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM on weekdays. The wider program is on the mobile diesel repair page, and the US 19 and SR 52 crossroads gets its own treatment on the Bayonet Point mobile diesel repair page.
