A semi truck page for a 55+ golf community needs a straight explanation. Heritage Pines has 1,406 homes, a clubhouse and a private course. What gives it a reason to appear here is location: its main gate opens onto County Line Road on the Hernando line, US-19 runs to the west, and the Suncoast Parkway is reached from County Line Road at Exit 37. When a tractor or heavy straight truck breaks down on one of those roads near the community, RDI Power can send a mobile technician or bring the truck into our heavy bays in Brooksville.
Heritage Pines, US-19 and County Line Road: where a heavy truck might stop
Each road around Heritage Pines asks something different of a driver with a sick truck:
- County Line Road (CR 578). Owned jointly by Hernando and Pasco, with a planned widening from 2 lanes to 4 toward the Parkway. Where it is still 2 lanes, a stalled tractor blocks a lane, so pull as far onto the shoulder as it is safe to go. Do not use the community’s entrance as a parking spot; residents and emergency vehicles need it clear.
- US-19 (Commercial Way). The main north-south road to the west, and the route north toward SR-50 and Brooksville. Give us the direction of travel and the closest cross street or business sign.
- The Suncoast Parkway via Exit 37. On the toll road, the mile marker and your direction locate you fastest.
A mobile technician can handle many roadside failures without a tow: air line leaks, a dead charging system, a failed sensor causing a derate, a plugged fuel filter or a light circuit that has shorted. Our Heritage Pines mobile diesel repair page explains how those calls work.
Moving a disabled tractor from the Heritage Pines area to Brooksville
When the truck needs a lift or a teardown, it has to travel about 19 road miles from the Heritage Pines area to our shop, usually north on US-19 and east on SR-50. A heavy wrecker does that job. If the tractor has lost its air, the spring brakes stay applied, so the operator either supplies air from the wrecker or cages the brakes before moving it, and the driveshaft is often pulled to protect the transmission. Tell the tow company what the truck is, whether it is loaded and whether a trailer is attached.
The tow goes better when it follows a diagnosis. If a technician has already scanned the truck on site, the bay, the tools and often the parts are lined up by the time it arrives.
Heavy-duty work behind a Heritage Pines call
Once a heavy truck is in our Brooksville bays, the work goes as deep as it needs to: engine overhauls, injectors and turbochargers, aftertreatment faults, cooling systems, electrical diagnosis, and air brakes from the compressor and dryer back to the chambers, slack adjusters, drums and linings. Peterbilt and Kenworth tractors come through alongside Freightliner, International, Mack, Volvo and Western Star, running Cummins, Detroit, Volvo or Caterpillar diesels, and our Caterpillar certification covers the last of those.
Before anything is replaced, you see the evidence: a digital inspection with pictures of the failed part and of the brakes, tires and leaks the technician noticed along the way. Shop labor is guaranteed for 3 years or 36,000 miles. On an RDI Fleet account, the fleet warranty of 2 years or 24,000 miles applies instead, and the account brings roadside help at any hour. Whatever else the heavy side of RDI Power handles is listed on our semi and heavy-duty truck repair page. For the industrial side of County Line Road to the east, see Shady Hills semi truck repair.
