Garden Grove, also known as Garden Grove Estates, is a small place with a big neighbor. Its 776 residents, counted in the 2020 Census, share ZIP 34604 and a Brooksville mailing address, and the western edge of the community runs along Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport. RDI Power repairs diesel trucks for Garden Grove at our only shop, about 13 minutes away by road, and sends mobile technicians to the ones that should not be driven.
Garden Grove’s airport next door
The airport began in 1942 as Brooksville Army Airfield, a World War II bomber training base. Today it is a 2,400-acre campus owned by Hernando County, with its Technology Center at 15800 Flight Path Drive and an industrial park holding more than 100 businesses. Tenants include turbine engine service, aerospace and air ambulance operators, and the Florida Army National Guard runs an aviation support facility on the field. A $13.6 million federal grant is now paying for a 600-acre Westside Aviation Expansion Zone, turning a former runway into a taxiway and adding new roads and utilities.
RDI Power does not work on aircraft. What the airport brings is a large concentration of businesses within a few minutes of Garden Grove’s homes. If your business is one of those in the industrial park and runs diesel pickups, vans, box trucks or heavier units, the shop and our mobile technicians are both close.
Broad Street and the CSX line through Garden Grove
US-41 is the road that defines Garden Grove. The CSX Brooksville Subdivision runs along the east side of the highway, and its spur to the airport was revived when US-41 was widened. Spring Hill Drive (CR-574) ends at US-41 along the airport’s north side, and Powell Road (CR-572) marks the northern edge. On Broad Street at the community’s edge, the Southwest Florida Water Management District headquarters faces The Trails of Rivard Golf and Country Club. South Brooksville lies to the north, Spring Hill to the west and Masaryktown to the south.
From Garden Grove to Donto Way
From the census center point of Garden Grove, the shop is about 7 road miles and 13 minutes away, north on Broad Street and then onto Cortez Boulevard. Weekday hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. A truck that drives normally with a steady warning light can usually make that trip. One that is overheating, has lost oil pressure, is in a hard derate or has air brake trouble should stay put while you call (352) 433-3800.
Diesel repair for Garden Grove trucks
The work covers light, medium and heavy duty diesels: Power Stroke, Duramax and Cummins pickups, Sprinter vans, box trucks, tractors with Cummins, Detroit, Volvo or Caterpillar power, buses and diesel pushers. Every job starts with a real diagnosis. The technician reads codes and live data with dealer-level software, including Ford IDS and WiTECH, and then tests the suspect system before ordering parts, so a fuel pressure problem is proven as a fuel pressure problem and not guessed at from a code. RDI Power is Caterpillar certified, a Bosch dealer and and works with Alliant Power fuel injection, which covers the fuel side of most engines we see.
You get a digital vehicle inspection with photos and notes before you approve anything, and the labor is warrantied for 3 years or 36,000 miles. Active and veteran military, police and fire receive 10 percent off. Garden Grove owners can see every system and engine we cover on the diesel service and repair page.
If a truck is stuck at a yard on the airport campus or on the shoulder of US-41, our Garden Grove mobile diesel repair page explains how a technician comes to it. For the community just south on Broad Street, see diesel repair in Masaryktown, and for the neighbors to the north, diesel repair in South Brooksville.
