Your envelope says Brooksville, your neighbors may say Spring Hill or Weeki Wachee, and the Census Bureau calls the place North Weeki Wachee. All 3 names point to the same stretch of Hernando County along US-19, north of SR-50, home to 9,131 people at the 2020 Census. For diesel repair, the address that matters is RDI Power’s shop at 1665 Donto Way in Brooksville, about 13 road miles and 19 minutes from the middle of North Weeki Wachee. This page explains how repairs work from here, and which of our North Weeki Wachee pages fits your truck.
Where North Weeki Wachee begins and ends
North Weeki Wachee is an unincorporated CDP governed by the county rather than a city. It borders High Point, Spring Hill and Weeki Wachee to the south, and SR-50 (Cortez Boulevard) runs along part of its southern edge. US-19 (Commercial Way) carries it north toward Citrus County, which makes it the gateway in that direction rather than toward the coast. About 8.76 percent of its area is water.
A few places anchor the map. GlenLakes Golf and Country Club, a private 18-hole Ron Garl course opened in 1990 at 9000 Glen Lakes Boulevard, falls inside the CDP. On Hexam Road, Hernando County Utilities’ Glen Water Reclamation Facility is in the construction phase of upgrades to meet a 3 mg/l total nitrogen limit under the Weeki Wachee basin plan, and its reclaimed water has gone to agriculture and to nearby golf courses. Since May 4, 2026, TheBus Route 11 has run both ways along Commercial Way and Hexam Road to the Publix in Sugarmill Woods.
The population skews older than Spring Hill’s, with a 2020 median age of 57.4 and 36.0 percent of residents 65 or older, but it is not an age-restricted association. Royal Highlands, a Weeki Wachee-addressed subdivision in ZIP 34614, lies to the north and outside the Census boundary.
Commercial Way, both directions
US-19 is the main north-south road through North Weeki Wachee: 18 miles north to Homosassa Springs, 15 miles south to Hudson. SR-50 leads 11 miles east to Brooksville. How a diesel uses those roads shapes how it fails.
A truck that only makes short hops along Commercial Way and Hexam Road rarely gets its exhaust hot enough for long enough. The diesel particulate filter loads with soot, regens come closer together, fuel economy drops, and EGR valves and coolers foul. Left alone, it ends with a clogged-filter warning or a derate. The cycle, and how to break it, is laid out in our article on diesel particulate filter and regen trouble.
A truck that runs US-19 down to Hudson or up to Homosassa Springs and beyond builds a different history: worn injectors and high-pressure pumps, turbos with a lot of hours on their bearings, and radiators and fans fighting Florida heat, especially with a trailer hitched. Both trucks get the same approach: find the cause before buying parts.
Commercial Way to Cortez Boulevard to Donto Way
The trip from North Weeki Wachee to the shop uses just 2 highways. Head south on Commercial Way to the SR-50 junction at Weeki Wachee, then go east on Cortez Boulevard toward Brooksville. Along SR-50 you pass the Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative office between US-19 and the Sand Hill Scout Reservation, and later HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital at 11375 Cortez Boulevard, before the road brings you to our side of Brooksville.
If the truck runs normally with a steady warning light, drive it in. If the light is flashing, the engine is in derate, or the temperature or oil pressure gauge looks wrong, call (352) 433-3800 first, because 13 miles is far enough for a small failure to grow.
How we repair a North Weeki Wachee diesel
At the shop, a code tells us which system to test, not which part to buy. Technicians connect dealer-level software, Ford IDS on Ford trucks and WiTECH on Ram, and test fuel pressure, boost, cooling system pressure and sensor data until the cause is confirmed. The service advisor who answers your call spent 35 years as a technician at a Chevrolet dealership. Nothing gets fixed until you have seen the inspection, photos plus the technician’s notes. Repairs carry RDI Power’s labor warranty, good for 36,000 miles or 3 years, and owners who serve or served in the military, or who work in police or fire service, receive 10% off.
Ford owners also get a specialist who spent more than 30 years at a Ford dealership. And if a repair needs parts that are not on the shelf, you hear that up front, along with whether the truck is safe to drive home to North Weeki Wachee while you wait.
Engine coverage runs from the 7.3, 6.0, 6.4 and 6.7 Power Stroke and every Duramax to Cummins, Detroit, Volvo and Caterpillar, where RDI Power holds Caterpillar certification. Pickups, medium-duty trucks, tractors, buses and diesel pushers all fit in the bays; diesel service and repair lists the systems we cover.
