River Ridge is one of the farther communities on our in-shop list. Our only shop is at 1665 Donto Way in Brooksville, about 29 road miles from the middle of River Ridge, and we will not dress that up as local. What has changed in recent years is the road between us: the Ridge Road Extension now carries River Ridge traffic straight to the Suncoast Parkway, and the trip runs close to 40 minutes. For a diesel that can make the drive, that is a reasonable trip to a shop that diagnoses before it replaces. For one that cannot, our mobile technicians come out.
River Ridge: a college campus, schools and an aerospace address on Ridge Road
River Ridge is an unincorporated Census place in Pasco County with 5,107 residents at the 2020 count. It sits east of New Port Richey, south of SR 52 and inland from Hudson, with Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park to the southwest. Addresses read New Port Richey, in ZIPs 34654 and 34655.
What sets it apart from a plain subdivision suburb is Ridge Road. Pasco-Hernando State College’s West Campus occupies 140 acres at 10230 Ridge Road, land donated by Alric C.T. Pottberg when the campus was established in 1977. It now holds 16 buildings, including the college’s district office. River Ridge Middle and High School and Cypress Elementary are mapped inside the community, as is the River Ridge Golf and Country Club. Pall Aerospace Corporation lists an address at 10540 Ridge Road in an aviation airworthiness directive.
The Ridge Road Extension and Exit 25: River Ridge’s route north
The roads around River Ridge changed in stages. County Road 587 was realigned onto De Cubellis Road, and Ridge Road now meets it near the River Ridge development. From that junction, the Ridge Road Extension heads east. Its first 0.4 miles, to Town Center Road, opened in August 2020, and 2-way traffic reached the Suncoast Parkway on December 31, 2021, at a Phase 1 cost of $104.09 million. Exit 25, the Parkway interchange at Ridge Road, was fully open by March 17, 2022.
Our mileage figure comes from that path, starting at the center of River Ridge: De Cubellis Road, Ridge Road and the extension to Exit 25, then the Parkway up to SR-50 and Cortez Boulevard east. Plan on about 29 road miles and close to 40 minutes. Doors open at 7:00 on weekday mornings, which makes an early departure from River Ridge worthwhile.
West of the junction, Ridge Road plays a different role: the signed truck route for CR 587 follows it west and then turns south on Little Road. Our River Ridge semi truck repair page covers what that means for tractors and dump trucks.
How diesel work for River Ridge trucks gets planned
Distance changes the conversation. At 29 miles, the most expensive mistake is driving a truck that should have been towed, or towing a truck that a technician could have fixed in the yard. So for River Ridge, step 1 is a call to (352) 433-3800. Describe the symptom, the warning lights and where the truck is, and we will help you sort it:
- Healthy enough to drive. A steady check engine light with normal power, a small seep, a noise that has not changed in weeks. Drive it up.
- Not worth the risk. A flashing light, a derate, a climbing temperature, low oil pressure, a new knock. Park it, and we will sort out a tow or a technician together.
- Stuck in place. A no-start at a yard or job site, or a breakdown on the roadside. That is where a service truck and a technician with a laptop earn their keep.
Diagnosis before parts for River Ridge trucks
Every diesel that reaches us gets the same treatment. We start with the story: when the problem appears, loaded or empty, hot or cold. Then we read the modules with dealer-level software, including Ford IDS on Ford trucks and WiTECH on Ram, and test the suspect system directly with fuel pressure, boost, injector balance or smoke tests before anyone orders a part. Findings arrive as a digital vehicle inspection, pictures and notes included, and nothing proceeds until you approve it. RDI Power’s labor warranty on River Ridge work runs 3 years or 36,000 miles.
On the engine side we cover the 7.3, 6.0, 6.4 and 6.7 Power Stroke, the Duramax line, Cummins, Detroit and Volvo, and Caterpillar, where we hold certification. The trucks range from pickups and Sprinter vans to buses, Class 8 tractors and diesel pushers. Fuel injection parts come through our Bosch dealership and Alliant Power, and the technicians doing the work hold ASE certification. River Ridge owners work with a service advisor who brings 35 years as a Chevrolet dealership technician, and Ford work often lands with our specialist who put in 30-plus years at a Ford dealer. Systems beyond the engine are covered on the diesel service and repair page.
Finding the right River Ridge page
Other River Ridge pages go deeper on single services. For a River Ridge truck that cannot move, mobile diesel repair in River Ridge is the first page to read. Pickup, fleet, RV, transmission, alignment and DOT inspection pages for River Ridge are listed alongside this one. North on Moon Lake Road, our Moon Lake diesel repair page covers the community next door, and the Pasco County page shows the rest of the county we serve.
Describe the symptom and the truck’s location in River Ridge when you call (352) 433-3800, and the next step will be a straight answer, not a sales pitch.
