Head east out of Brooksville on Cortez Boulevard and, about 6 miles along, you reach Hill ’n Dale: 2,212 people, 2 farm roads meeting the highway, and I-75 another 3.5 miles on. RDI Power’s shop is about 10 road miles and 17 minutes back to the west, on Donto Way. That is close enough to make the shop the default and short enough that a tow, when one is needed, stays a short one. Here is how diesel repair works for Hill ’n Dale, and which of our Hill ’n Dale pages fits your truck.
Hill ’n Dale on both sides of Cortez Boulevard
The older part of Hill ’n Dale lies north of US 98/SR 50, where a residential frontage road runs alongside the highway. For the 2010 census the CDP was stretched south to take in a lightly settled area on the other side. Addresses use ZIP 34602 with a Brooksville postal name, unlike the 34601, 34604 and 34613 communities west and south of downtown. The county’s Hill N Dale Park, 9 acres at Roper Road and Boxwood Street, has a pavilion, a basketball court, a playground and a multipurpose field. Ridge Manor is about 7 miles farther east. If a truck starts misbehaving close to home, that north-side frontage road is a calmer place to stop than the travel lanes of Cortez Boulevard, and it leaves a technician room to work if the truck cannot be driven to us.
Mondon Hill Road, Spring Lake Highway and Exit 301
Hill ’n Dale is where 3 kinds of driving meet. Mondon Hill Road (CR 484) arrives from the northwest through small horse farms and farmland and ends at Cortez Boulevard. Spring Lake Highway (CR 541) heads south from the same stretch of highway into grove and hay country. And 3.5 miles east sits Exit 301, the only I-75 interchange in Hernando County.
Each kind of driving wears a diesel in its own way:
- County-road farm work. Short trips at low speed, dust from unpaved lanes, and trailers on the hitch. Air filters, cooling systems and brakes take the punishment, and the particulate filter rarely gets hot enough for long enough.
- Interstate miles. Steady loads at highway speed put hours on injectors, turbochargers and transmissions, and a trailer behind the truck adds heat to all of it.
- Town errands. Trips into Brooksville on Cortez Boulevard add stop-and-go driving and idle time, which wear brakes and keep exhaust temperatures low.
A pickup that does all 3 in the same week needs a shop that asks how it is used before it starts replacing parts.
What a Hill ’n Dale truck gets on Donto Way
Every job starts with a diagnosis, not a guess. Our technicians read the codes with dealer-level software, Ford IDS for Ford trucks and WiTECH for Ram, then test the system the codes point to until the failed part is confirmed. The shop’s Ford specialist spent more than 30 years at a Ford dealership, and the service advisor who takes your call spent 35 years as a technician at a Chevrolet dealership. You get the digital inspection, photos and written notes, before you approve a repair.
The engines are the ones we see every week: Power Stroke 6.0, 6.4, 6.7 and 7.3, Duramax, Cummins, Caterpillar (RDI is Caterpillar certified), Detroit and Volvo. Repairs carry a 3-year, 36,000-mile labor warranty, and military members, active or veteran, along with police and firefighters, get 10% off. Everything else we repair, from fuel injection to overhauls, is on the diesel service and repair page.
Picking the right Hill ’n Dale page
If you drive a Super Duty, Ram, GM or Titan XD diesel, Hill ’n Dale truck repair covers pickup faults and towing wear. Tractors and dump trucks coming off I-75 have their own page, Hill ’n Dale semi truck repair. When the truck cannot move, start with mobile diesel repair in Hill ’n Dale. Operations running several units will find RDI Fleet plans on the Hill ’n Dale fleet maintenance page listed with this one.
Your neighbors to the south along Spring Lake Highway have their own page as well: Spring Lake diesel repair. Wherever your truck is sitting, call (352) 433-3800, tell us what it is doing, and we will say whether it should come to the shop or wait for a technician.
