RDI Power does not have a Spring Hill address, and we will not pretend otherwise. Our one shop is in Brooksville, about 12 road miles and 20 minutes from the middle of Spring Hill, and our mobile technicians cover the rest. For a community this size, that combination works: most diesel owners can drive in, and the trucks that cannot get a technician sent to them. This page explains how diesel repair for Spring Hill works and which of our Spring Hill pages fits your truck.
A 1967 planned community that outgrew the plan
Spring Hill began in 1967 as a planned community from the Deltona Corporation and the Mackle Brothers, laid out on the same plans as Deltona. The developers’ working name was Spring Lake, dropped because the name was already in use locally. The waterfall at Spring Hill Drive and US-19 marked the original entrance. By the 2020 Census, Spring Hill had 113,568 residents, and it is still unincorporated, with no city government of its own.
The geography is easy to describe. US-19 (Commercial Way) forms the western border and SR-50 (Cortez Boulevard) the northern one. County Line Road (CR-578) runs along the Pasco line. In between, Spring Hill Drive, Mariner Boulevard, Deltona Boulevard, Elgin Boulevard, Northcliffe Boulevard, Barclay Avenue and California Street carry the daily traffic, along with Deltona-era loop streets such as Linden Drive and Landover Boulevard. Residents know sections like Seven Hills, at Mariner Boulevard and County Line Road. Timber Pines, which Spring Hill wraps on 3 sides, is a separate community with its own identity.
From Spring Hill to Donto Way
The usual route from central Spring Hill takes Spring Hill Drive east to the Suncoast Parkway at Exit 41, north on the Parkway to Exit 46 at SR-50, then east on Cortez Boulevard into Brooksville. That is about 12 road miles and roughly 20 minutes in normal traffic. Neighborhoods along US-19 sit farther from the shop than the east side near the airport, so plan on a longer drive from the west.
East-side addresses in ZIP 34604 mail as Brooksville, with Spring Hill accepted as an alias, while 34606 through 34609 mail as Spring Hill. Whatever the envelope says, the shop and the people are the same.
Short trips, Parkway runs and the diesel in between
How a diesel is driven shapes how it fails, and 2 common patterns put very different stresses on an engine. One is the truck that spends its days on short hops along Mariner Boulevard, Spring Hill Drive and US-19, never staying on the road long enough to get the exhaust fully hot. The other runs the Suncoast Parkway, which opened in 2001 and gives Spring Hill its own toll-road route south to Tampa, and piles up steady highway miles.
The short-trip truck is the one that struggles with its emissions system. A diesel particulate filter cleans itself by burning off soot during regeneration, and a regen needs heat and time. Cut it short often enough and the filter loads up, the truck regenerates more and more often, fuel economy drops, and eventually the dash warns of a clogged filter or the engine derates. EGR valves and coolers on those trucks collect soot as well. Our article on DPF and regen problems explains the cycle and how to break it.
The highway truck has a different list: injectors and fuel pumps that have moved a lot of fuel, turbochargers with high hours, and cooling systems that work hard when the truck also tows. Both kinds of truck get the same diagnostic approach.
How a Spring Hill diesel repair gets done
- The call. You describe the symptom, and we help decide whether to drive in, tow in or send a mobile technician.
- The diagnosis. Dealer-level software, including Ford IDS and WiTECH, plus direct testing of the suspect system.
- The evidence. Photos and the technician’s notes from a digital vehicle inspection reach you before you approve anything.
- The repair. We fix the root cause, using Bosch and Alliant Power fuel components where they apply, and the labor is backed for 3 years or 36,000 miles.
The engines are the ones we work on across the region: Power Stroke 6.0, 6.4, 6.7 and 7.3, Duramax, Cummins, Caterpillar (we are Caterpillar certified), Detroit and Volvo, in light, medium and heavy duty trucks, buses and diesel pushers. The full scope is on our diesel service and repair page.
Choosing the right Spring Hill page
For more detail, 3 other Spring Hill pages are the next stop. If you drive a Power Stroke, Duramax, Cummins or Titan XD pickup, our Spring Hill truck repair page covers common faults and how to get the truck to us. If the truck cannot move, or you run a yard full of units that cannot be spared, start with mobile diesel repair in Spring Hill. Fleet operators will find RDI Fleet maintenance plans on the Spring Hill fleet maintenance page listed alongside this one.
Fleets are a bigger part of Spring Hill than its suburban streets suggest. The county school district’s bus transportation department works out of California Street near Nature Coast Technical High School, TheBus added Route 10 through East Spring Hill in May 2026, and the Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport sits on the community’s eastern edge. Whatever the size of the operation, a maintenance plan costs less in lost days than a string of breakdowns.
Spring Hill and Brooksville share the same shop, so our Brooksville diesel repair page is worth a look if you want to know more about the town where your truck will be worked on.
Call (352) 433-3800 and tell us what your diesel is doing and where it is sitting.
